Natalie Clark Dance Portfolio Photography

I took some photos for my flat mate Natalie Clark's dance portfolio.
This was a new experience for me and had a lot of fun working with such a talented dancer.
Natalie has almost finished her three year degree studying Contemporary Dance at Unitec.

Against the Grain Movie (watch it as is, not full screen)

Last part of my GDS brief. Not finished yet, planning on putting this
into another video of some kind.

Song: Against the Grain by City and Colour
I don't own the rights to this song and I am using it for educational purposes only.

(view it small, sorry for the super bad quality didn't want to use up to much internet
uploading it. But you get the idea)

Graphic Design Project : Progress

Our brief was to 1 : choose a poem or song and 2 : make a poster, publication
and a 3D piece (sculpture, movie etc). The song I picked was 'Against the Grain', by
Dallas Green. These photos are of the first two sections of the assignment. They both are
using just normal plywood which has been laser cut. The poster is A3 and contains the whole
song on it. Then the book has a line of the song on each page. Love the burnt effect the
laser gave the wood and the imperfect edges of both the poster and book.

Against the grain : To go against the generally accepted practice, or social norm, or to
do something that is the opposite of what is normally done.

Booking Binding Elective

Made a book in an Elective Project (kinda like a minor course). It contained a
small collection of my favourite photos from the last few years.
The book fits in a box which has a magnet flap latch as demonstrated by my
awesome hand model =]. Designed and made entirely by me.

Dallas Green woodcut = Finished

Before inking it up for the first time.

After about 8 or 9 hours of cutting it's finished, unbelievably
stoked with how it came out. I now appreciate the saying
"good things take time",  never knew I could be so patient.

Photography Finals From Last Semester

I guess to simplify my ideas into a sentence. I was
looking at the relationship between humans and things growing in nature.
Focusing on how forms of the body can be reflected in forms and lines of plants.
( I got an A- )
